Smart phones are a powerful tool that can be used to promote activism in several ways. There are many benefits to utilizing the technology and the growing amount of cell phone apps. Here are 3 free cell phone apps every activist should have.
1. SPY CAMERA NINJA – HIDDEN VIDEO

The Spy Camera Ninja – Hidden Cam allows for several different stealth recording modes including Black-Screen, which allows a phone to video and audio record while appearing to be off. This also allows the phone to be locked out so a recording can’t be stopped or interrupted by anyone other than the phone owner. Apps such as this are often used in encounters with law enforcement but people are not advised to record police secretly. Know your local video recording laws before using such an app and be sure to check out the 7 rules for recording police.

2. NON GMO PROJECT SHOPPING GUIDE

With an increasing number of people choosing to boycott GMO products, knowing which products are non-GMO certified is a big plus. This app lists all food brands and individual products enrolled in the only third-party non-GMO verification program in North America, The Non-GMO Project. The app also gives tips on avoiding GMOs by listing GMO crops and common ingredients known to include GMO.

The foundation of the Soviet model of trade and investment was centralization under the guise of “universal public ownership”. The entire goal of communism in general was not to give more social and political power to the people, but to extinguish alternative options and focus power into the hands of a select few.
The process used to reach this end result can vary, but the goal always remains the same. In most cases, such centralization begins with economic hegemony, and it is in our fiscal structure that we have the means to see the future. Sovietization in our financial life will inevitably lead to sovietization in our political life.
Does the U.S. economy’s path resemble the Soviet template exactly? No. And I’m sure the very suggestion will make the average unaware free market evangelical froth at the mouth. However, as I plan to show, the parallels in our fundamentals are disturbing; the reality is that true free markets in America died a long time ago.
The Tyranny Of Planned Economy
The characteristics of a free market society defy the use of centralized planning. Adam Smith’s original concept of free market trade stood as an antithesis to what was then referred to as “mercantilism,” a select few “joint stock companies” (corporations) monopolizing production while using government ties to destroy any new competition. Unfortunately, there are to this day economists and politicians who believe that corporate centralization is a “natural” function of a free market. In reality, corporate monopolies are an unnatural creation of collusion between governments and big-money interests designed to suffocate any entrepreneurship outside of their sphere of influence. Over time, as we now see in the United States today, government power and corporate power begin to hybridize, until one can barely be distinguished from the other.
The bottom line is that you cannot have planned structures, monopolized production or controlled capital flow within an economy and still claim it to be a “free market. There are no exceptions to this rule.
The Soviet system was the ultimate in centralization. Every aspect of financial life was dictated by the communist government, from industrial input and output to investment to food production and rationing to wages and retail prices. Some people might argue that this structure is a far cry from what we now have in the United States, but let’s look at the fundamentals.
Controlled Money Creation
One of the primary tenets of The Communist Manifesto was the creation of a central bank meant to keep tight controls over currency issuance. The existence of a central bank immediately disrupts any chance of a true free market. Central banking without competition allows an oligarchy, whether corporate or political or a meshing of the two, to manipulate interest rates as well as adjust prices through inflation. Lending standards (which the central bank determines arbitrarily) built on fractional reserve banking opens the door to murky debt instruments and toxic financial products that are further used to either fabricate a “high” standard of living (as we saw in the U.S. in the ’90s and early 2000s) or execute a bubble implosion causing a lower standard of living (as the U.S. is experiencing today).
Since the establishment of the Federal Reserve through subversive collusion between banking interests and corrupt politicians in 1913, America has not had a free market system. From that point forward, every boom and bust, every interest rate disaster, every inflationary increase in prices has been scientifically engineered.
Dominance Of Industry
Soviet controls on industrial output are legendary. Every part of the resource allocation process became subject to bureaucracy, and this led to stunted manufacturing growth as well as a culture of misrepresented economic data. In the United States, the establishment has taken a slightly different approach but with the same end result.
Many were roundly criticized for daring to say that the Cyprus thefts could visit our shores. If Treasury Secretary Jack Lew gets his way, Cyprus will look like a walk in the park compared to what’s coming because Cyprus was a beta test for the massive theft of private wealth which is on the horizon.
In fact, I would say to my fellow countrymen who don’t think the government would ever perpetrate a fraud against the American people in which the government would oversee the outright theft of personal assets of American citizens, you might want to jog your memory and look about to a period of time going back four to five years in this country.
Short Term Memory Loss
I, too, was roundly criticized three months ago when I said the Cyprus scenario is coming here. I was told there would be a revolution if this happened and the government would be to afraid to try such a thing. I marvel at people who hold to such naive beliefs. Listening to these people is like listening to a country song played backwards. You know the wife does not leave, the truck still runs and the guy stops drinking. Maybe it is all the fluoride in the water that is causing such widespread ignorance and apathy.
First of all, our government is not the enemy. This is not the government we are dealing with. We are battling organized crime in the form of corporations like Goldman Sachs who have hijacked our government. They are lining up for the last great garage sale before they collapse the economy and roll out martial law. There are forces lining up to steal everything that you and I own. It has already begun but this country is so dumbed down, we do not see that it has already started.
The Greatest Wealth Transfer In History
I am still haunted by the image of former head of the Goldman Sachs crime syndicate and former Treasury Secretary, Hank Paulson, telling a closed session of Congress that if they did not grant Wall Street “bailouts” there will be martial law in the streets as a result of the economy collapsing. Ask yourself, if almost five years later and three bailouts later, are Americans better off having sacrificed the bailout money in lieu of maintaining roads, improving schools, while running the national debt through the ceiling and destroying the financial heritage of our children?
A number of critics claim that Agenda 21 is not a treaty, so it is non-binding and that it is merely a paranoid conspiracy theory.
Agenda 21 is not a voluntary program. The smoking gun is Bill Clinton’s Executive Order # 12852 in 1993, creating the President’s Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD). Clinton’s executive order bypassed Congress and forced taxes and restrictive policies on the American people.
Agenda 21 is the action plan to implement “sustainable development”, a term coined by the United Nations that they define as “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
Sustainable development may sound nice, but in practice it aims for totalitarian control and depopulation as Clinton’s President’s Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD) documents prove. Global warming is the excuse that is used.
Members of Clinton’s PCSD advisory included representatives from these groups:
Executive agencies: EPA, USDA, Department of the Interior, Department of Energy, Department of Defense, Department of Commerce, Department of Transportation, HUD, Department of Education and the Small Business Administration.
Big business: Ken Lay of Enron, BP Oil, Dow Chemical, General Motors, and more.
Extreme environmental groups: The Sierra Club, The Environmental Defense Fund, The Nature Conservancy and Natural Resources Defense Council.
The mission of Clinton’s PCSD was for members to advise him on forging environmental and other policies, creating strategies for implementation and propagandizing the public about sustainable development.
The Monsanto Company likes to proclaim that they are the good guys, here to selflessly feed the world, help with sustainable agriculture, and, as if those lofty goals are not enough, champion human rights across the globe. All you have to do is look at their commitments page to see how worthy they are of a shiny corporate halo:
At the heart of Monsanto is a very clear and principled code of conduct – one we expect all employees, contractors and management to live by every day. We operate under a genuine value system—our pledge—that demonstrates integrity, respect, ethical behavior, perspective and honesty as a foundation for everything we do.
A key part of fulfilling the promise of our value system is by engaging our communities in a significant and positive manner. Not only do we work hard to support the family farmer in a variety of ways, but we also:
- provide extensive educational programs – particularly in science and agriculture – for students around the world
- fund numerous research grants for graduate students
- work in partnership with government bodies, non-profit agencies and advocacy groups to make agriculture more sustainable
If you happen to have your hip-wader boots on, you can delve even further into their purported goodness by reading, in it’s entirety, The Monsanto Pledge:
The Monsanto Pledge is our commitment to how we do business. It is a declaration that compels us to listen more, to consider our actions and their impact broadly, and to lead responsibly. It helps us to convert our values into actions, and to make clear who we are and what we champion.

Monsanto’s CEO, Hugh Grant, has long been of the opinion that the company is deeply misunderstood.
From his point of view, the company is working on the side of angels, helping to create commodity crops to feed today’s population and the 2 billion more people who might occupy the planet by 2030. He is proud that Monsanto scientists were among the first to have a patented genetically modified plant on the market—Roundup Ready soybeans were introduced in 1996—and he is excited about new efforts to bioengineer wheat and vegetables, too, as well as the next generation of super beans and corn. (source)
So why does such a noble, benevolent company require the services of the most notorious mercenary army of modern times? Why did Monsanto dish out half a million dollars to an arm of Blackwater called Total Intelligence (which now operates under the acronym OODA)?
What is Blackwater?
Blackwater is now known as Academi. According to Wikipedia, the company:
…previously known as Xe Services LLC, Blackwater USA and Blackwater Worldwide—is a private military company founded in 1997 by Erik Prince and Al Clark. Academi is currently the largest of the U.S. State Department’s three private security contractors. Academi provided diplomatic security services in Iraq to the United States federal government on a contractual basis. Academi also has a research and development wing that was responsible for developing the Grizzly APC along with other military technology. The company’s headquarters is located in Arlington County, Virginia.
They have made numerous attempts to rebrand their hit squads, changing the company name (Xe and Academi) and creating subsidiaries (Total Intelligence, The Terrorism Research Center, and Greystone, to name a few). They have reportedly done business under the names of at least 30 shell companies. Because of Despite their tarnished reputation gained from, for one example, gunning down civilians, in 2010, CIA head Leon Panetta awarded them a classified $100 million dollar security contract.
How are Blackwater and Monsanto connected?
While rumor had it that Monsanto had actually purchased Blackwater, that is not the case. Monsanto contracted with the mercenary group for “security services”. In 2010, an illuminating report called Blackwater’s Black Ops, written by Jeremy Scahill, of The Nation, revealed that Monsanto had given a contract worth up to half a million dollars to Blackwater.
According to internal Total Intelligence communications, biotech giant Monsanto—the world’s largest supplier of genetically modified seeds—hired the firm in 2008–09. The relationship between the two companies appears to have been solidified in January 2008 when Total Intelligence chair Cofer Black traveled to Zurich to meet with Kevin Wilson, Monsanto’s security manager for global issues.
After the meeting in Zurich, Black sent an e-mail to other Blackwater executives, including to Prince and Prado at their Blackwater e-mail addresses. Black wrote that Wilson “understands that we can span collection from internet, to reach out, to boots on the ground on legit basis protecting the Monsanto [brand] name…. Ahead of the curve info and insight/heads up is what he is looking for.” Black added that Total Intelligence “would develop into acting as intel arm of Monsanto.” Black also noted that Monsanto was concerned about animal rights activists and that they discussed how Blackwater “could have our person(s) actually join [activist] group(s) legally.” Black wrote that initial payments to Total Intelligence would be paid out of Monsanto’s “generous protection budget” but would eventually become a line item in the company’s annual budget. He estimated the potential payments to Total Intelligence at between $100,000 and $500,000. According to documents, Monsanto paid Total Intelligence $127,000 in 2008 and $105,000 in 2009.
Reached by telephone and asked about the meeting with Black in Zurich, Monsanto’s Wilson initially said, “I’m not going to discuss it with you.” In a subsequent e-mail to The Nation, Wilson confirmed he met Black in Zurich and that Monsanto hired Total Intelligence in 2008 and worked with the company until early 2010. He denied that he and Black discussed infiltrating animal rights groups, stating “there was no such discussion.” He claimed that Total Intelligence only provided Monsanto “with reports about the activities of groups or individuals that could pose a risk to company personnel or operations around the world which were developed by monitoring local media reports and other publicly available information. The subject matter ranged from information regarding terrorist incidents in Asia or kidnappings in Central America to scanning the content of activist blogs and websites.” Wilson asserted that Black told him Total Intelligence was “a completely separate entity from Blackwater.”
How does this affect the current wave of activism against Monsanto?
Although there is no clear evidence that Monsanto and Blackwater are working together against current activists, a recent spate of odd activity indicates that Monsanto is taking surreptitious action against the movement, whether on their own or through the use of “contractors”. They have engaged in a social media war against activists. Mysterious things have been occurring on the social networks: posts have disappeared, some posts are hidden from the timelines of readers, and trolls abound on pages promoting this weekend’s March Against Monsanto, happening worldwide on May 25.
Apparently all those supposed geniuses in human history from times prior to pasteurization just…lucked out.
The Daily Mail Online published what many commenters have called a misleading article yesterday entitled, “Women who drink organic milk in pregnancy could be harming their baby’s IQ“. Here’s the very first line:
Pregnant women who drink organic milk risk harming their child’s brain development.
What a powerful, sweeping blanket statement with horrible implications for pregnant women who drink organic milk. However, let’s look a bit more closely at what we’re being told here.
The actual study cited in the Daily Mail article (authored by “Daily Mail Reporter”) does not mention anything about organic versus non-organic milk. Read for yourself.
Perhaps the idea was borrowed from The Telegraph, which ran a similar story (albeit with a headline more geared toward milk sales than trashing organics) based on the same iodine study. The Telegraph story briefly mentioned another study from last year that claimed organic milk had less iodine than “the regular variety”.
What that particular study actually concluded was:
There was no difference in the iodine concentration of either conventional or organic milk by area of purchase. However, a difference was seen in iodine concentration of organic milk by region of origin.
So in certain regions of the U.K. at the time the study was conducted, some organic milk was found to have less iodine than conventional milk. How does that automatically equal dumb babies being born everywhere?
What About Milk Containing Genetically Engineered Growth Hormones?
Neither article mentions anything about how much of the conventional milk sold in grocery stores is treated with rbST, biotech giant Monsanto’s genetically engineered E. coli bacteria version of bovine somatotrophin, a growth hormone produced by cows. Perhaps this is because rbST’s use is banned in all 27 countries in the European Union, Canada, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand; however, there are no restrictions on rbST in imported dairy products that still show up on U.K. grocery store shelves.
Here in the United States, we are consistently told “no difference has been observed between milk from rbST-treated cows and milk from untreated cows”. However, even the packaging for Monsanto’s rbST Posilac lists numerous potential side effects, including visibly abnormal milk, reduced fertility and hoof problems. A 2003 meta-analysis published in the Canadian Journal of Veterinary Research showed rbST-treated cows had a 55 percent increase in lameness, a 40 percent decrease in fertility and clinical mastitis (teat inflammation) cases increased by 25 percent.
The evidence continues to mount. That vaccines are doing a great deal of harm is well beyond denying. Worse, though, the evidence that vaccines have had little or no effect on infectious diseases is clear, as documented in new graphs. The precautionary principle, which is enshrined in a UN directive, should have been implemented before vaccines were ever routinely injected.
Yesterday’s article, Vaccines Do Irreparable Harm: Study from Poland, documents the revealing information brought out by Polish scientists’ review of the scientific literature on vaccination’s adverse effects and immune system effects. Today, the rest of the study covering neurological symptoms following vaccination and a history of vaccines demonstrating little benefit is reviewed.
Post-Vaccine Neurological Complications
The authors focused primarily on the preservative thimerosal’s active ingredient, mercury, in their discussion of vaccine-induced neurological damages. They noted that the percentage of people who have allergic reactions to thimerosal has been calculated at a low of 13% in the Netherlands to a high of 21% in Austria.
Allergic responses to mercury are often initially triggered by vaccine injections. It’s noted for toxicity to the heart, liver, kidneys, and nervous system, along with being a carcinogen.
Readers of Gaia Health are probably aware that much current research on vaccine adjuvants indicates that aluminum may be the greatest concern. The reduced mercury load in the United States’ vaccines did reduce the autism burden for a short time in the US. However, a great number of vaccines was added to the schedule shortly after, and many of them included aluminum as an adjuvant, thus increasing the autism burden.
Over the last 20 years, neurological conditions such as autism, ADHD, mental retardation, epilepsy have increased many times over across the world. The authors wrote:
[F]rom the 1990s new vaccines for infants containing thimerosal began to be used in America. In the DTP, Hib and Hep B vaccines, children received a dose of 62.5 ug of mercury, which is 125-fold more than the dose considered safe (0.1ug/kg/day). These reports were the reason that Scandinavian countries already prohibited the use of mercury in 1990
The deaths of 19 infants of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) shortly after vaccination with two hexavalent vaccines were described in a paper. Those authors suggested that, though it hadn’t been proven that vaccines had caused their deaths, “it is a signal that brings to attention the need to monitor the course of vaccination and its complications.”
Epidemiological research has shown a direct relationship between increasing doses of thimerosal and the rate of autism in the US from the late ’80s through the mid ’90s. They found a correlation between the number of measles-containing vaccines and autism prevalence during the ’80s. The same researchers also found odds ratios that were statistically significant, indicating that increasing doses of mercury from vaccines with thimerosal correlate to increasing rates of autism.
Several of Poland’s childhood vaccines contain mercury, including
Note: Not included in the review is the fact that Poland’s vaccination schedule is mandatory. Notice that all but one of the vaccines listed above are made in Poland. It’s one way to assure profits for the home-grown pharmaceutical industry!
“Bad Apple” released 3 days before worldwide March Against Monsanto
Activist artist Michael D’Antuono, known for his often controversial paintings on hot button issues, is now aiming his critical brush at the mega agricultural biotechnology corporation, Monsanto.
The painting depicts an evil looking witch in a dark, barren, menacing orchard, offering a shining red apple with the Monsanto sticker on it. The painting’s title, “Bad Apple” is a double entendre, referring both to the dangers of modified agriculture and the corporation itself…
Part of the description for the painting reads:
I was thinking that if the witch had offered Snow White a genetically modified Monsanto apple, it might take more than a kiss from a prince to revive our heroine.
The timing is as ripe as Monsanto’s modified crops because it’s being released just three days before the May 25th worldwide March Against Monsanto.
People of Earth, are you ready to take back our food sources as provided by Nature and Planet Earth—and not by any corporate entity, patent, or decree?
Saturday, May 25, 2013, marches protesting GMO food [and the lack of food labeling in the USA] will take place in cities around the globe. There is every good reason to support this ‘mega march’ wherever you live because we are losing our sources of food and nutrition, which are being replaced by biotech industry oligarchs who think they can and must patent the human food supply.
If you don’t think activism counts and works, please check out what U.S. Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) did and said May 20, 2013 regarding what’s become known as the “Monsanto Protection Act.”
Senator Mikulski actually apologized for allowing the Monsanto Protection Act to go through and vowed to fight against GMOs and Monsanto. Bravo, Senator Mikulski. Let’s hope other members of Congress see the light about the dangers of GMOs and their not being labeled in the USA. Go, Barbara go!
GMO food crops are sprayed with inordinate amounts of the chemical herbicide glyphosate. For some—not all—information regarding glyphosate, see what Wikipedia says here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glyphosate.
For information about genetically modified corn, a dietary staple in the USA and in many cultures, read what Natural News has to say here:
http://www.naturalnews.com/040210_gm_corn_march_against_monsanto_glyphosate.html
Will corn-on-the-cob become taboo? Who, in their right mind, would want to take a chance on the possibility of Bacillus thurigiensis growing in their gut?
Organically-grown corn ought to be safe, if it’s not been cross-pollinated by GMO pollen.
Rutherford Institute Attorneys File Civil Rights Lawsuit Over Wrongful Arrest, Detention in Psych Ward of Marine Brandon Raub Because of Facebook Posts.
Attorneys for The Rutherford Institute have filed a civil rights lawsuit against law enforcement and other government officials on behalf of Marine veteran Brandon Raub. Last August, he was arrested by a swarm of FBI, Secret Service agents and local police and forcibly detained in a psychiatric ward for a week because of controversial song lyrics and political views posted on his Facebook page.
The complaint, filed in federal court in Richmond, alleges that Raub’s seizure and detention were the result of a federal government program code-named “Operation Vigilant Eagle” that involves the systematic surveillance of military veterans who express views critical of the government. Institute attorneys allege that the attempt to label Raub as “mentally ill” and his involuntary commitment was a pretext designed to silence Raub’s speech critical of the government and that the defendants violated Raub’s rights under the First and Fourth Amendments.
Since coming to Raub’s defense, The Rutherford Institute has been contacted by military veterans across the country recounting similar incidents. In filing a civil suit against government officials, Rutherford Institute attorneys plan to take issue with the manner in which Virginia’s civil commitment statutes are being used to silence individuals engaged in lawfully exercising their free speech rights.
“Brandon Raub’s case exposed the seedy underbelly of a governmental system that is targeting military veterans for expressing their discontent over America’s rapid transition to a police state,” said John W. Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute. “Brandon Raub is not the first veteran to be targeted for speaking out against the government. Hopefully, by holding officials accountable, we can ensure that Brandon is the last to suffer in this way.”
On Aug.16, 2012, Chesterfield police, Secret Service and FBI agents arrived at Brandon Raub’s home, asking to speak with him about his Facebook posts. Like many Facebook users, Raub, a Marine who has served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, uses his Facebook page to post song lyrics and air his political opinions. Without providing any explanation, levying any charges against Raub or reading him his rights, law enforcement officials handcuffed Raub and transported him to police headquarters, then to John Randolph Medical Center, where he was held against his will. In a hearing on Aug. 20, government officials pointed to Raub’s Facebook posts as the reason for his incarceration. While Raub stated that the Facebook posts were being read out of context, a Special Justice ordered Raub be held up to 30 more days for psychological evaluation and treatment.
